IMPORTANT MESSAGE: For ALL Patients & Owners
Due to the very rapidly changing novel Coronavirus and related disease (COVID-19), Alta View Veterinary Clinic is taking additional precautionary measures within our clinic to keep our staff, doctors, technicians, animals, clients and visitors safe, while continuing to provide essential patient care.
Effective Tuesday, March 17th, only Clinic personnel — including doctors, technicians, and essential staff — will be allowed inside all areas of the hospital until further notice.
Veterinary clinic staff will meet clients in the parking lot and bring pets in for care. During this time, services may be limited, and some existing appointments may need to change. Hospital personnel will contact clients directly with information about any changes.
If you need to pick up food and/or medications, please call the clinic, remain in your vehicle, and one of our client care staff will handle payment via phone and deliver the items to your vehicle. (For your convenience and a shorter wait period we recommend calling ahead for refills of medications and food, and prepaying via phone at the time of placing your order.)
Our business hours will remain the same: Monday-Friday open 8AM-5PM AND open Saturday 8am-12pm
What clients should do when they arrive at the clinic with patients:
Call 414-546-0606 when you arrive at the parking lot. A member of our client care team will assist you.
Please remain in your vehicle with your pet.
Please make sure your pet is on a leash and/or pet carrier.
Remain in your vehicle at ALL times and practice strict social distancing of 6-10 ft from each other and staff.
Care professionals will discuss your needs by phone when you arrive. At the end of the phone conversation, a care professional will come to the parking lot to bring your pet into the building for evaluation.
After the medical team evaluates your animal, you will receive a phone call to discuss recommendations and a plan moving forward. Verbal consent for treatment will be authorized via this phone call.
Updates will be given regularly via phone by your medical team.
Once the care of your animal is complete, you will receive another call where the discharge process will be discussed.
Before you leave, you will receive a phone call from a customer service representative to obtain payment methods:
- We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and/or Care Credit.
Payment will be collected prior to the discharge of your pet from the clinic. Any medications, and receipt will be sent out to you with your pet at the end of your appointment. This limits exposure to you and the staff to a minimum.
Although our communication methods will be altered, be assured that pets will still be examined by the veterinarian and patient care in the clinic will be provided by our team as usual. We are doing this in order to continue to provide excellent care to your pets while protecting our valued clients, our staff and all of our families.
Exceptions will be made for owners bringing in their pets for euthanasia. In these cases, owners will be allowed in the hospital.
A trip to the hospital with one’s pet can be a stressful situation under ideal conditions, but with the heightened concern for the COVID-19 outbreak, we need to be especially calm and patient during this time. Thank you for entrusting us with your pet’s care and for understanding the added precautions need to keep everyone safe and healthy.
